I have multiple invisible dynamic disabilities. I have always had big dreams and plans for my future. When I realized I was physically unable to follow the path I had chosen, I felt defeated. Due to my health declining so quickly, I felt like my future was slowly crumbling apart and there was nothing I could do, except watch, until it all came crashing down.
I decided that I was going to do what I had envisioned, except this restart is a rework. I'm working on learning how to do things my way. With every day bringing on uncertainties and challenges, I can’t compare my journey to someone else’s because I deal with things different from them, after all comparison is the killer of dreams. I’m working on accepting and working with my health restrictions. Learning when to push through and when to rest, since my body won’t keep up with my level of determination and drive.
"I am the Raven."
Raven's represent a lot of things, including, inner healing, transformation and endings. I've had a lot of things end in my life. The original plan I had for my future is a big example. I'm learning how to transform the future I had planned into something that is achievable. It is also a name I chose for myself, because Raven’s represent the secrets of creation and destruction. It serves as a reminder that I have the power to decide which to choose for myself and my future.
"I am flying."
I am moving, at any forward momentum. Flying has a variety of different speeds, not only full speed all the time. Baby steps are still movement and somedays, that’s all I can do. No matter how long it takes, I will turn my dreams into reality.
"I am heading East."
The east is associated with the rising sun, symbolizing new beginnings. I am moving forward, towards my future. The moon also rises in the east. The moon is a sign of constant change. To me, the moon is also a light in the darkness, it's a sign of hope and the future.
In short, it all means that some things have ended, and I am beginning again at my own speed. As The Raven Flies East is my journey towards making my dreams a reality.
